NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee lawmakers want to create a study committee to review the state's death penalty procedures.
The House just approved a bill that would create a committee to study the process in its entirety, from how the death penalty is assigned as punishment to how it is ultimately carried out. The Senate already has passed a similar bill.
The existence of a study committee would not affect any pending executions.
