Death penalty repeal introduced in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS – State Senate and House lawmakers have introduced legislation today to permanently repeal the death penalty in Maryland.

Sen. Lisa Gladden, D-41-Baltimore, and Del. Samuel Rosenberg, D-41-Baltimore, surrounded by death penalty opponents, clergy and fellow legislators, said the momentum to repeal capital punishment is growing, and its time for the representatives of the state to act. Rosenberg added that believes Democratic Governor Martin O'Malley supports the legislation based on his previous public comments.
