More on the Webster stay stuff

A few of the details about the Bruce Webster stay started to emerge today. Counsel for Webster moved to join the lethal injection suit currently before the federal District Court for the District of Columbia in Roane, et. al. v. Gonzalez, et. al. A stay had already been entered in Roane for three other federal death row inmates. A stay appears to have been a done deal even if DoJ opposed the stay; Webster’s counsel apparently talked with opposing counsel and the Government simply consented to what the district court would have likely ordered anyway.

The relevant documents in the Webster stay litigation are now available.
